Lexi Asher is a pacific northwest native, born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She moved up to Olympia, WA the summer of 2016 for school and graduated from The Evergreen State College in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in media studies, with emphases in photography and documentary film. During her time at Evergreen, Lexi worked with non-profit organizations including The Monarch Sculpture Park and the LEAD Program offered by Kokua Services. She fell in love with not only documenting the important services provided, but participating in the work being done. She is most interested in organizations that revolve around accessibility and sustainability, specifically in education and art. While exploring the new territory of the moving image, Lexi continued to pursue her passion for photography that she found in eighth grade when her father bought their first DSLR camera. Primarily self taught, interacting with the medium in a more critical environment served as an important learning experience. Lexi recently moved to Spokane, Washington and is excited to explore the new scenery.
